Southern Staircase currently has and opening for a Milling Operator with wood-working skills to build stair systems. If you like working with wood and power tools and have some knowledge and assembly experience, this is an invitation to join a great team working for the best company in stair building!

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate machinery to meet productivity requirements.
• Operate hand held power tools and gauges, finish and inspect products to meet Critical to Quality (QTC) standards.
• Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
• Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Requesting needed material from Warehouse
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Ability to control cost and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Requires good woodworking skills
• Ability to read tape measure and perform basic math accurately
• Ability to operate power tools, table saw, band saw, chop & miter saw and any woodworking related tools
• Ability to work in a production type environment with some heavy lifting required
• Ability to build stair systems within company standards
• Maintain manufacturing quality, mechanical inspection tools, safety and quality focus
